What better way to celebrate launching our new website, than with some new music?
After months of planning, designing, copywriting and coffee drinking, this week we were proud to be able to launch our new redesigned website. There wasn’t much wrong with our old website, but we’re perfectionists and if we can improve something, we will. The same goes for the audio services and music playlists we provide our retail, hospitality and commercial clients. We update our client’s stations each week with the latest tracks so the music is fresh, the atmosphere is perfect and their customers are happy. And the best thing is we get to preview all the new music beforehand!
This week we got to listen to Florence + The Machine’s latest effort ‘Spectrum’, as well as the remix from Calvin Harris. The original is a rhythmic, pulsating affair, laced with Florence’s trademark big room vocals. Calvin has stepped in for the remix and added his signature dance beats to make it a faster, more club friendly tune which the Headland team prefer, though both are enjoyable.
Lana Del Rey also returned to our ears this week with ‘National Anthem’. The team agreed that Mrs Del Rey was a grower, helped in part by the fact her latest stuff is more upbeat than what we’ve come to expect from her. This latest song is, well, an anthem; the type of song that gets belted out in stadiums with the crowd singing along. It’s got a movie soundtrack feel to it and features a 7 minute long video to boot.
Our final highlight was Will Young with ‘I just want a Lover’. This single is a throwback to the 80’s, and the team thought ‘it reminded them of George Michael and was very 80’s soul.’ There’s a disco vibe to this song and the video features Will Young dancing with a shopping trolley in a rain soaked car park...He’ll definitely catch a Saturday Night Fever if he doesn’t get out the cold soon...
Check back next week to see our highlights!
