Spring Update

Spring is my favorite time! Albeit, I get a year older, and a year wiser some might say, but most importantly the clocks go forward …

… which means no more going home in the dark. So hopefully you’ll be reading this without the lights on (assuming you’re not a night-owl like me!).

Before we get straight into the update I’d just quickly like to congratulate a couple of artists. Paul Dee has recently released his Debut CD 'Reverse Gravity' which is now available on iTunes and Amazon, so well done Paul …

… and also a shout out to The Fuse, their latest EP ‘Paint This Town’ is also going live on iTunes, so good luck guys!

If you’ve got any news about an upcoming gig or release, get in touch and Headland Media will spread the word and we’ll even give it a tweet!

Anyway, back to the update. Thank you again to everyone who submitted and well done to Jamie Sellers, The Fuse and Paul Dee who feature this time. Don’t forget, if you’re an existing artist on our database but have new material – feel free to forward them on, there’s no limit to the amount of songs you can send over.

Keep them coming and join the unsigned revolution!

Be well,

Ritchie

February Update

February is a bit special for us here at Headland Media…

…NO, not because it’s Valentines, or because we’re sticking to our New Year resolutions, but because it’s exactly a year ago since we launched our MySpace and Headland Unsigned web-pages! We’ve been showcasing the best new talent for 12 months now and continue to promote new acts each month with the Unsigned Update.

Hundreds of tracks have been submitted since we joined the worldwide web and lots of you have been reading my blogs and most recently, following us on Twitter – so thanks.

January quickly came and went with plenty more submissions to sort through and well done to Dirty Modern Hero, Rosie Greenwood and Adam Wedd who feature this month. Don’t forget, if you’re an existing artist on our database but have new tracks – we’d love to hear what you’ve been doing, so please forward them on, because there’s no limit to the number of songs you can submit.

I’ll be back next month with 5 brand new tracks …but for now, check out the very best talent.

Speak to you next month.

January Update

Welcome to my first blog of 2010 and a very Happy New Year to you!

This month we’re reviewing the best tracks from 2009 … when Headland Media began unveiling unsigned artists to venues right across the UK. Your songs can now be heard by over 2 million of our listeners each week!

We launched two websites -headlandmedia.com/unsignedartists & myspace.com/headlandmedia - showcasing the best new talent and continued to promote new acts each month with the Unsigned Update.

Hundreds of tracks have been submitted, blogs have been written, the playlist refreshed constantly and we’re aiming to do even more this year.

Now finally, here’s a chance to have a listen to the very best material from 2009. Thank you again to everyone who submitted and well done to those who were highlighted in our monthly updates. Don’t forget, if you’re an existing artist on our database but have new material – feel free to forward them on, there’s no limit to the amount of songs you can send over.

December Update

Hello and welcome to my final blog of 2009…

Firstly, myself and everyone at Headland Media would like to wish all our unsigned artists and followers a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

It’s been an exciting 12 months for us, with the launch of our Unsigned Artists site and our MySpace page (which has had over 1,000 hits and plays). We’ve been exposing and promoting new artists to over 2 million people each week across the UK and continue to add new venues all the time. And in 2010 we will be looking for more of the same – lots of submissions, lots of talent and most importantly, lots of exposure!

And as always, we actively invite you to get in touch and we’ll keep updating the world on twitter. Check it out HERE.

Also, thank you to everyone who submitted Christmas songs (they’re going down a treat) and as crazy as it seems … keep sending them ….there’s always next year - but as always, we are looking for original material not cover versions.

Now finally, the last Unsigned Update of 2009 … we’re showcasing the very best material submitted in the last month. And if like me, you don’t really do the festive season, then this month’s update is just for you. I’ve decided to mix things up and included a few summery songs … so enjoy. Check out the talent on the Featured Artists page…

November Update

With the days getting shorter and nights getting longer, unsigned artists continue to emerge from the dark…

It’s been an eventful month here at Headland Media, with potential new venues to be added, more artists uploading their tracks, one band signing a publishing contract and not forgetting the great Christmas songs we’ve been sent – it’s all go!

Your songs are reaching 2 million people each week right across the UK and every day we’re actively promoting the names of the best artists and tracks we’ve received in the last month.

We’re also still receiving great emails from artists and listeners alike, loving the fact that unsigned music is getting heard – keep them coming! Here’s some more feedback we’ve had ….

"We we are now hearing reports that people are hearing the Cavalier tracks I sent to you a while ago in various places around the country. I assume it is a result of Headland Media having the tracks. So thanks for sorting that out…" Edward Harries (Manager - Cavalier)

"Thanks again for this opportunity" Gavin Cox

"Fantastic - we'd love you to add Katie's tracks for as long as you like and the site looks really cool. Many thanks for your support" … Rob Owen (Manager – Katie Owen)

And as always, feel free to get in touch and we’ll keep everyone up-to-date on twitter. Check out twitter.com/HeadlandUnsignd

Don’t forget to submit your best Christmas songs (if you haven’t done already) for inclusion in our December playlists, but remember, we are looking for original material not cover versions.

Back to the business at hand…we’re showcasing the very best material submitted in the last month. Three artists have previously been included in past updates and one band is making a third appearance. Like we keep saying, the more material you send, the more exposure you can receive.
