Paul Dee – Reverse Gravity
Paul Dee is an emerging singer songwriter from the Northwest of England who has had a passion for music for as long as he can remember. Through self taught guitar and the blessing of his unique raw soulful voice, he has developed his own distinctive sound. Upon listening to Paul’s music the most overwhelming feature is the emotion he delivers through his moving voice and heartfelt lyrics. After years of writing and recording songs in his home studio Paul launched his music through MySpace. The overwhelming response led to him releasing his debut EP entitled ‘Reverse Gravity’ in November 2009, which is currently available on iTunes and Amazon. As a result of Paul’s success on MySpace he was contacted by a film maker in spring 2009, whom wished to use one of his songs; this led to the filming of the official video for ‘Save You’. The majority of the EP was self produced in his small home recording studio. The release contains 8 tracks of love, life and loss. All songs are written from Paul’s true life experiences, with the title track ‘Reverse Gravity’ being written after the loss of his beloved mother in 2007. Paul continues to write new songs for future releases and upcoming live gigs. February 2010Dirty Modern Hero - Home
All in all, 2009 wasn’t a bad year for Edinburgh five-piece Dirty Modern Hero. The last twelve months have seen the band record and release five new tracks on their self-titled EP, with one of those songs - “Home” - being selected to feature on a major compilation of new Scottish music. Those new songs and others travelled up and down the UK as Dirty Modern Hero brought their energetic, passionate and soulful powerpop rock to appreciative new audiences across the country during the summer. In November, Dirty Modern Hero won the hotly contested industry title of Radio Forth’s “One To Watch”, chosen by judges from a wide, eclectic and lengthy list of emerging talent as the year’s best new band from the Scottish capital and beyond. They collected the award at Edinburgh’s prestigious Assembly Rooms in the company of some of the industry’s biggest names, including The Noisettes and Sugababes. The buzz continued to build with features on BBC Radio One, and the year ended with Stereophonics’ Adam Zindani personally selecting the guys to support his band Casino at their Christmas show in Birmingham. More national radio support for Dirty Modern Hero followed days later. 2010 begins with new songs, recordings and gigs all lining up in support of what looks like being an exceptional year. Adam’s unique approach to writing songs comes as a result of several years of honing his craft as a solo singer-songwriter. His lyrics display a well-developed understanding of the human condition, often appearing under the guise of childish optimism and naivety. After several years of success performing as a solo artist, with the high point being the use of his music in a short film premiered at the Covent Garden Odeon, it was time to establish a full-band line-up to take the project to the next level, and born of this was Adam Wedd & The Independents. Never detracting from the original arrangements written for voice and acoustic guitar, the full-band sound naturally suited the tracks, doing nothing but complementing the original musical ideas. Since forming, the band have been in the studio creating new material, layering the sounds of a diverse range of instruments including the cello, mandolin & ukulele, over the guitar driven 4-piece dynamic. All the while, the project is gaining momentum with an increasing tally of headline slots, press coverage & radio airplay, and with the eager anticipation of their debut single release in June and the follow-up later in the summer, Adam Wedd & The Independents are going to be one to watch out for over the coming months. For as long as she can remember Rosie has always been a singer and performer. She wrote her first song ‘La Revenge est Douce (Revenge is sweet)’ early 2009. Rosie says ‘’This song is pure fantasy - based on the idea of taking revenge on a man and using one's sweetness and natural charm to squash any chance of conviction’’. "My next song 'Too Lost for Words' is the opposite to fantasy and I wrote it earlier last year at a time of feeling quite lost. It is ironic that as I recorded this song, it became apparent that I was not lost, but rather misunderstood. I took a right turn on my journey and it is turning out to be one that I am never going to forget". Rosie’s influences include her Mum who introduced her to Classical music from a young age and musically by the likes of Bill Withers, Dionne Warwick, lyricists such as Kandi, Pink, Norah Jones, Madonna, Lauryn Hill and loads more. www.myspace.com/rosiegreenwood January 2010 - The Best New Artists from 2009!The Elrics – She Doesn’t Exist

Authority and command are two things bands rarely achieve in a short space of time. Yet Pontypridd based Indie Pop Rockers BenSem have all of this and more. Beginning where it is always best to, the seeds of BenSem were planted when an 18 year old Sem was given a guitar by his friend; an act that would ignite the flame of a life of music making. Later followed Pete Rawbone lead guitar an old school friend of Sem, Ads Jones a bassist from Blackwood, and finally Stevie Allen a very diverse drummer from Pontypridd. In 2006 a series of events unfolded, that by a twist of fate, created the band BenSem. Their first EP was well received and made waves throughout the UK music scene. Wanting more and craving improved production than that of their first release, BenSem retreated to the secluded Twin Peaks Studio in the Brecon Beacons where, working alongside producer Adam Feust, their debut album, Western Lights was created. Mastered by Howie Weinberg, Western Lights is a captivating and powerful debut, selling out on both Amazon UK and US, as well as selling over 3000 copies on the bands website. BenSem regularly gig to jam packed venues, pleasing the crowds with Sem’s emotive lyrics and alluring melodies. BenSem continue to go from strength to strength stopping at nothing to inspire their ever growing fan base. Sem’s status as a master wordsmith is cemented in the strength of his music and lyrics. In a music industry that works on fads and short-lived trends, BenSem are masters and commanders of their own world, creating absorbing and mesmeric music that defies genres and boundaries. Concerned only by what they can achieve, and not what others do, BenSem live in the moment when performing, offering a glimpse into the bold and introspective world that strives to produce honest music that offers a potent dose of inspiration to their listeners. BenSem are: Ben Semmens, Stevie D'Allen, Gez Alexander & Ritchie Beech Alpha Road - Colours

Jamie Robertson - Guitar / Backing Vocals Mark Matthews – London Lives
At the age of eleven Mark found two things in his Mums cupboard. An original copy of The Beatles Sgt Peppers L.P and the Clint Eastwood classic, “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly”. He listened to the album everyday and watched the film almost just as much and vowed to become one of two things; a Songwriter or a Cowboy. In case you hadn’t gathered, Mark currently has a guitar but he is yet to own a Stetson. Mark went solo at the start of 2006. Leaving behind the small town of Maidstone in Kent, he headed for the bright lights of London to secure his musical future. Since then Mark managed to beat 10,000 applicants to be in the semi finals of the UK Live and Unsigned competition, been nominated for an Indy Music award for the second year running, played the Camden Crawl again, supported The Draytones, and was featured as one of the top three artists in the London Metro newspaper. The song ‘That Magic Feeling’ was nominated for best pop song at the Expose Music Awards 2009, and received air play on BBC Kent Introducing, as well as other various internet radio stations. The bands future is to make great records and have a great time and, with a start like this, it won’t be too long before they claim that future! Charlie House - Dreams
Charlotte ‘Charlie’ House was born in the small seaside town of Hastings, East Sussex, England. From early on it was clear to see that music & performance held great meaning within her life. Charlie: ‘I used to sing about everything and anything, whether happy or sad you could guarantee I would just bust into song about it right there and then!’ At the age of six her single parent mother decided to become a foster carer thus initiating within Charlie a quickly growing social conscience and strong determination to make things better in life, doing so the best way she knew how…through song. She soon found herself immersed within the moving and soothing sounds of 90’s Soul and R&B. The realness of girl band ‘Eternal’ became such a strong inspiration to her that it wasn’t long till she had began chasing her musical aspirations professionally. Whilst studying at Performing Arts College Charlie discovered by chance that Kelle Bryan of ‘Eternal’ would be paying a visit to her home town in aid of a charity event. After meeting, discussing her aspirations and even performing for Kelle she was quickly offered 1 on 1 coaching by Ms Bryan herself with her company ‘Red Hot Entertainment‘. Charlie: ‘It was an absolutely amazing experience. I was in shock for quite some time because I couldn’t believe that my childhood dream had suddenly been flipped into reality! I was not a Christian at the time but I knew from that moment on God was most definitely real and he had my back!’ In 2005 Charlie moved to the big smoke of London town in order to sing and song write not only for herself but for many other established and up and coming groups and artistes. Charlie: ‘I always compose the lyrics to my songs first because I feel it very important to include a message that people can really relate to. Words of understanding, encouragement, wisdom and inspiration (as a well as a great melody!). For me that’s what it’s all about!’ Since moving to London Charlie has been involved in various projects and shows as well as being granted the opportunity to work with some of the finest producers the industry can offer such as Grammy nominated Toby Baker and Nuff Sed Productions. Charlie: ‘I am so thankful for every blessing in my life and I pray may there be many more exciting and good things to come.’ Jessie Grace – L.O.V.E.
Jessie Grace is a singer/songwriter from South Bucks, who began her life in music studying classical piano. She went on to teach herself guitar and it was then that she began to write songs. Her main musical influences include Radiohead, Raconteurs, Nirvana, Bjork and PJ Harvey and she has incorporated all of these influences into her debut album ‘Asleep on the Good Foot’, produced by Dave Draper. It has so far been very well received; gaining praise from local media, both on radio and online. Tracks from the album have been broadcast on several ‘BBC Introducing’ shows, with opening track ‘Beautiful’ being aired nationally on Tom Robinson’s ‘Introducing’ programme on BBC6. In a recent review of the record, online music reviewer Toxic Pete sums her style up: “… Her music sits somewhere between the nu-folk of K T Tunstall and some of the more angularly jazzy Joni Mitchell works. Add to that a very commercial sounding vocal delivery; something again between Tunstall, Judie Tzuke and Dido and you've got yourselves a very viable, workmanlike piece of work! Jessie Grace keeps this work very fluid, it's continually changing, evolving; just when you think you've got her sorted and labeled she hits you with something that refuses to be pigeonholed and you have to start re-thinking your initial assessment… if Jessie Grace can get the promotional support she deserves, this lady will be a name and a force to contend with.” Elsewhere on the web, Colin MacKinnon from Oxfordbands.com comments: “‘Asleep on the Good Foot’ is an excellent debut from a really promising talent. A song like ‘L.O.V. E.’ is clinching proof of how good Grace can be, bringing it all together: smart songwriting, sympathetic production and a delectable voice. And she’s young and gorgeous. Don’t you just hate her?” Jessie has previously been involved in several band projects and is now focusing on making it as a solo artist. She hopes ‘Asleep on the Good Foot’ represents a strong beginning to a long career producing world-class music.

A four-piece from Stourbridge, England, Everett's music is best described as piano-led-melodic-indie. Everett's latest offering is a five-track concept EP by the name of Storyteller. Their tracks are melodic, atmospheric, and full of chiming guitars and beats. Having gigged extensively in the local area, including a support of the American band Yeasayer and London band Revere, Everett are building a solid fan base in Birmingham and the surrounding regions. Since the recording of Storyteller, Everett's natural direction has led them towards a sound overflowing with energy and hidden complexities, utlilising driven guitars and looping melodies. Their most recent tracks 'The Line' and 'Hana Bi' give a glimpse of the future and will surely be part of a second EP or full length album. Mates of Mine – Sitting by the Ocean
Mates of Mine are a vibrant, up-and-coming acoustic group formed by 3 childhood friends and rounded out with a more recent addition. The band includes Peter (vocals, guitar) and Simon (bass), mates since age six when Peter asked Simon to be his friend, plus lifetime friend Oskar (vocals, guitar) and final member Henrik (drums, percussion). Born and raised in the small Swedish town of Umea, there's a carefree sincerity to their sound that seems to reflect their roots. Even their debut album pays deliberate homage to their hometown in its name, 'North of Nowhere'. Mixing laid back guitar sounds with rich vocals, harmonies, and a variety of percussion, their debut album and enthusiastic gigging schedule have seen them become local celebrities at home. After numerous successes, including radio plays both in Sweden and further afield, they made the decision to broaden their horizons and throw themselves completely into their music. March 2009 takes them to the UK, and the next step in their journey. By opening themselves to new experiences and ways of sharing their music with fans, they are looking forward to continuing their busy schedule in England with regular shows, house gigs, and line plays (the latter two of which are currently being pioneered in the UK). With the same humour, can-do attitude and community spirit that has drawn in fans and made their live performances sparkle, they look forward to forging ahead and making their mark on the music industry. David j Harvey – Airwaves

I was intoxicated by bass and guitar drums and vocals” says David. Having gigged the local scene in various bands for the next few years, David then joined punk trio `Teen Lubrication` on a tour of Europe as a session bassist and backing singer.
